Without wanting to go into too many details, my mum is seriously ill, and hasn’t eaten anything for 5 days now (literally nothing).
She won’t try the protein drinks she’s been given, as she had them a few years ago for another illness. She won’t drink milk, other than in coffee. So yoghurt is out as well.
I know this sounds like she’s very stubborn, I guess she is, but she’s still my mum. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for any errors in post, we’re all in a bit of a mess right now

Very sorry to hear about your mother being the way she is right now.
With it being 5 days, it doesn't matter what she eats.. Anything at all will do. Have you tried something light on the stomach like soup, or mashing up something like a banana so it is easier for her to eat?
Sorry that I can't advise anything more, but I hope you and your family get through this okay.

Take her to see a doctor.
My Dad stopped eating too, he went to the docs and they said it was no problem, nothing wrong. He was down to one small yoghurt per day.
My Mother took him back and said something along the lines of 'WTF?'.
He had Crohns, long story, but eventually died after a seemingly bungled operation.
Long story short answer, take her in and find out wtf is wrong, don't give up and be careful.

I’m sorry for not updating this thread, always a bad thing.
Many thanks for the advice - mum has been given a heavy dose of steroids, which has increased her appetite. She also got the all clear from possible liver cancer today (although she does have a severe infection and bad diverticulitis).
So today has been a good day, and I can breathe again about a lovely mum who I nearly lost 8 years ago from a burst aortic aneurysm.

That’s great to hear!
My Mum suffers badly from diverticulitis which was diagnosed about 10 years ago. She knows certain foods set it off so was really careful with what she ate initially. It may have been the case your Mum just didn’t want to eat because she’d be in pain.
My Mum’s still pretty careful with diet but sometimes she just veers off for a treat and lives with the pain after. There’s no telling her!

Great to hear the update.
If her appetite reduces in the future or if she needs a bit of building up there is a product Fortijuce and can be obtained by the Dr. You can buy but a bit pricey if used regularly. It is very useful for those who do not like milk or allergic too. My work specialises in food replacement especially via NHS. Just something to bear in mind.
