Wasp sting swelling

Got stung by a wasp just above the eye on that lovely soft bit below the brow and it's now swelled up like Bear Grylls bee sting.

Simple question does Benadryl work? thank you

I would call 111 for some advice as it is close to the eye.

I got stung in the mouth by a hornet a few years ago, Anti histamine injection for me at A and E, swelling went down in a few days.
