Hopefully not difficult. Just Google “Private GP XXXXXXXX” - where XXXXXXXXXX is your location

After a great experience abroad then still needing some help when we got back, (and finding a 3 week wait for our GP), a simple Google, (and at the time about £70 - these days £120), got an appointment the next day. The private GP’s are becoming busier so now there can be 1-2 days now but MUCH faster than the NHS with 20 minute slots. Just don’t buy your medicine from them - take it to the pharmacy at 1/4 of the cost, (granted not everything but ours does rip the backside out of some of it).

I've used Rood Lane/Medicentres and DocTap. Handy locations in the City and at stations.

When I ring up my Doctor, the receptionist qualifies you :

"Are you on our critical list, of pension age or under 18?"
"None of those."
"Well then I'm afraid the next available appointment is in 3 weeks..."

I took Vikingette1 to Rood Lane at Victoria Station one weekend when her ears were completely blocked with wax and she couldn't hear.

Your NHS GP gets £167 per year for your health care, which puts the £120 a private appointment into perspective.

Imagine the service that could be provided if there were the 10000 extra NHS GPs that were promised by Andrew Landsley & Jeremy Hunt, rather than the 5000+ fewer we actually have.

It's in your interests to lobby politicians to have a working NHS, if only to keep private GPs slack enough for you to get a same day appointment.
