Hi All,

Lately I turn into a right prick when i have too much sugar. is this normal? for example, yesterday i had a beer and some of my kids desert after she had enough and honestly it was like i turned into 'Capt Angry' for a couple of hours afterwards. Im in my mid 40's.

Theres a history of diabetes in my family but im not overweight by any stretch.

anyone else get like this? its obviously a case of laying off the sugar but could there be an underlying issue?

Has it just happened the once, or have you (or others) noticed it before? A beer and some kids dessert doesn't sound like a huge amount of sugar if you haven't had negative symptoms before.
I think most people eat too much sugar and simple carbohydrates, its become far too normalised in out diets.
I've been watching a number of videos recently on nutrition, health and the metabolism. Problems with blood sugar levels and insulin resistance can usually be detected for years before they become bad enough to see the doctor and get diagnosed with diabetes. Get yourself checked out to be sure.

Angry? If you really want to experience angry - try cutting out sugar for a few days - then you'll know angry!!!!

Oh - depressed and moody as well.

OTOH I switched to Keto for a couple of months and sugar crashes totally disappeared and my mood was rock solid all day every day. Didn't half get boring after a while though!

The first week or so is tough when you drastically reduce your sugar intake. I noticed my own testiness initially, but yes after a while you feel much better.

History of diabetes in the family? I'd get checked just in case. If you're OK then something else is triggering your temper.
