Dentures

I broke a front tooth a month ago. NHS dentist (luckily) & I’ve now got a partial denture with the front tooth & another - had a tooth missing a few along from the front.
It looks good, but feels very odd, as it would.
I’m finding it difficult to eat with it in - it seems to move about. Is this normal, will it settle down, will denture fixing cream/paste help?
I may fork out for an implant down the line, but any advice on what to expect when new to dentures. Thanks
