Sunday I was sweating buckets in bed. Tuesday my voice was croaky and losing the power of speech. Coughing during the night.

Is it a strain of Covid?

Not sure what it is, but I've got the same. Awfully sore throat started Sunday, developed into a cough and snotty head and last night the chills. Also I could get a job as a Phyllis Pearce impersonator with my voice ha ha!

Started with a pain at the back of the roof of my mouth yesterday. Today sore throat, bad first thing but easing off as the day progressed. Simultaneously feel like I'm coming down with something and getting over it! Very odd.

Lasts a week or so. Tiredness a bit longer.

Some sort of virus that feels pretty similar to the later covid strains.

The new variant is called Nimbus, the throat is the main difference.

I had it about a month ago, came from my missus/her family when she went visiting for Fathers Day. Lasted a day or so, and sinus issues for another week, which is similar to the other times I had it.

Yep I've had this and lots of my clients & workmates have too.

It started with me on the Saturday of the Festival of Speed weekend, horrible. Laid me low until the following Wednesday. I got COVID very lightly towards the end of the first outbreak and I don't if has anything to do with it but it was the first cold I've had since then and it made me feel far worse than the COVID.

It seems to be very virulent so if you know someone who has it, I would stock up on Night Nurse, honey and possible Scotch.

Don’t think I need to guess, it’s fairly obvious. I just don’t understand why anyone would buy tests for Covid anymore, which is why I asked for what purpose.

Each to their own I guess.

At my former place of work, you still get free sick days for Covid.

I used 5 tests on day one as well as sending pics of positive tests every day, until I tested negative, then got another 5 days off using the earlier tests from day one biggrin

I haven't tested for several years I've just stayed indoors when I've had Covid-like symptoms, so no real need to test. However, yesterday I developed a persistent, sharp cough that made my head thump. I also have a sore throat. I am supposed to be singing with others on Sat so, even if I feel better than I do today (and am actually able to sing.....) I will be taking a test on Saturday morning to make sure that I'm not risking infecting them.

I had something recently that felt very much like a watered down Covid. Started off with sneezing and general cold symptoms, but it left me feeling exhausted and gave me brain fog which made me think it was Covid like.

The symptoms lasted nearly three weeks in the end.

It sounds very much like Nimbus, although I had no gastrointestinal symptoms

To not pass it on to elderly parents/family, maybe?

On Saturday I had a couple of pints in the pub, a bottle and a half of wine at a barbecue followed by a few night caps. The huge cigar was nice as well.

Somewhere along the way I must have picked up a bug as I still feel a bit rough and tired. Should I test for Covid ?
