I have had tennis elbow now for about 10 years, possibly a bit longer.

Its in both arms but the right is far worse.

I have been to the doctors and have had physio, various exercises etc and nothing whatsoever has worked.

The doctors, even on private don't seem interested in doing what sounds like a simple op.

We do now have a new private cover. My arm is hurting like fk so I might go to them.

Has anyone had this procedure? What could I do to push it as clearly nothing else works. Every doctor ive seen (which has been perhaps 3) just wants you to do excercises which do offer relief but no fix and after this long its so frustrating that something which sounds like a simple op hasn't happened.

Have you had a corticosteroid injection? That worked for me after a year or so of physio, creams, straps etc

I did have one years ago, I was meant to have one in each arm but he only had enough for one…..it didn’t do a lot at all frown

They say rest is best, on and off I’ve had loads of rest and while it may hurt less it’s never fixed.

Bit of an expert here ..

Having suffered with Severe problems in R elbow for a long time.

Best treatment Ive had is:

Epicondyle Brace combined with Shockwave Therapy.

not cheap - but best option out there - beats steroid injection and surgery - see research below

I happen to work with one of the UK's leading experts on Tennis Elbow - she is treating mine and is absolutely brilliant.

Drop me a PM and I can send you a link - Cumbria based - but people travel from overseas to consult with her...

This surgeon is an elbow and shoulder specialist…I saw him about tennis elbow and then about three years later had to see him again for a dislocated shoulder.

I think he’s one of the “go to” specialists for professional sports men/women

Hello I fel for you, I had it so bad my right arm before treatment just hung from my shoulder, next to no movement. I had PRP treatment in the Royal Berkshire in Reading December 2021. Within two months my right arm was better and stronger than my left. I can do gym work again (I use a support for extra security), aged 62 now and the arm is still good. Link to Nuffield, first I could find.

What do I do? Ive been sacked off by local gp and I can't even remember where it was last left. I guess its time to have a look at the wife's insurance policy....

Be careful opening your wallet with PRP for lateral epicondylitis

"What can be learned?
The PRP case study highlights deficiencies in the regulatory space that have allowed the widespread use of this unproven therapy.
