On holiday the other week there was what appeared to be blood when I dropped the kids off at the pool. Been to see the doctor and they checked down there, and gave me stool samples kits and referral for blood tests.

Just been told I’m being booked in for an urgent colonoscopy…

If the blood was bright red and "fresh" it's a better sign than dark clots. Hopefully just a tear and it'll heal by itself.
Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and up your fibre intake.

If they find something scary during the colonoscopy, remember you're in the best place possible and they've found it nice and early.

No point in panicking, it won't solve anything or change whatever the issue is, you've done everything you can.

Not a health professional but if it's bright red it means it's from near the exit and if it's dark red it's further up, obviously you have done right to get yourself checked but I think that the dark red one is the one to worry about.

Been there, and stting yourself will happen before the camera lol, but do not panic, you have done the right thing, seem to be getting an excellent service.

Had this, it turned out to be nothing really, they found a polyp and removed it there and then, in front of a dozen students, they may ask you that too, they have to learn somehow.

Anything more caught early is never so bad, quick reaction from you, quick service from them, wait and see, it could be something of nothing.

I do understand the panic though, was offered and took a lung scan being a smoker, being requested to go for another very quickly, then 3 month intervals did cause some panic, now it is annually, had one four weeks ago, they said if I have not been contacted within 4 weeks, see you next year.

Good luck.
