Morning,

Just a bit of a reach out in the hope of some advice / thoughts on this one as whilst it's early days, needless to say my mind is ging into overdrive and Dr Google is proving to be a bit overwhelming as I delve off down various rabbit holes. That and most web content seems to be American based and they do seem to love popping pills over there...

Back story is that I've suffered sporadic Migrane for years, maybe only a handful of times a year so nothing too serious but part of the symptoms would be a feeling of sickness, tired, cold or sweaty and generally felt like a bad hangover along with a headache on the RHS behind my eye, which once taken hold would mean into bed, lights off until it passed. The general sickness would last maybe 48hrs. I live with it.

Jump back a few months, maybe the start of summer and I'd be feeling a bit off... sort of lingering nausea, bit groggy and lethargic, feeling like I needed to poo when I didn't and I shrugged it off as the usual trials and tribulations of being 44, kids, work etc and I was always prone to feel a bit iffy which I always shrugged off as nervousness... ie before a long drive or something at work. I did however think it seemed off and started to watch what I ate, totally cut out alcohol though said symptoms seemed to liger on, coming and going. I had three migranes in fairly close succession with the last being 3 weeks ago. It passed within 48hrs but the feeling of sickness / groggy / tired has lingered on, this time a bit more noticeable and I'd been sick.

Saw the GP who took me off Omeprazole and issued something else (I forget the name) and ordered stool samples and bloods to be taken. Handed in a sample and was quite quickly called by another GP who went through my symptoms and said that there was a result for H Pylori in the sample and that they want a second sample (plus bloods / blood pressure next week) so whilst this is an initial diagnosis and as yet, no treatment has been suggested pending the results of the planned tests, needless to say I've been off Googling and to an extent, it would make sense - general nausea, fatigue and the chemical imbalance could be triggering Migranes.

I've been off work as work sadly doesn't really allow for me not being 100% as the role is driving / engineering / safety is paramount thus if not 100% then I pose a risk to myself and others. I'm back to work today on light duties which part of me feels has been premature on my part as I still feel pretty ropey and oddly, have been quite jittery and hot a times... but can't decide if that's me just getting stressed / anxious or if this is also a symptom of the body trying to fight an infection? Pressure to return to work is high as my rolling absence is near to the "We're not paying you anymore" limit which is causing stress too, more so as a large chunk of said absence was due to a work related injury last year which saw me off the tools for almost 5 months.

So in short, probably worrying over nothing and whilst the doctors are ongoing, already starting to think about what I can do myself to try and help - I've read about people taking pro-biotics, cutting out certain foods etc but it's the internet and mostly American so hence this may be a worthwhile place to see if there's any real world experience / advice.

Cheers

Ive been diagnosed with H Pylori in the past. Really bad stomach cramps within about 30mins of eating and a visit to the loo! (initially thought IBS eating odd hours due to work etc did it but went to the docs).

A sample sent to the doctors and diagnosed. Horse type tablet (which made my mouth taste like metal) and a course of antibiotics fixed it. Been ok since.
