The thread for those of us hoping to shed some pounds this year - or perhaps maintain/continue previous success. There have been some incredible transformations on recent threads.

Many of us will go about this in different ways. PHers will hopefully find their way and find support from others. It helps to occasionally remind us how you are approaching this when you post updates - lots of us have short memories!

There is a Wiki where you can log your progress.

Wiki can be found here:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

If you’re new to Wikis on PH it can look a bit daunting, but it’s very straightforward. Your data goes between the sets of || (two either side) - just refresh your browser before updating (to make sure your starting point is recent) and use the ‘preview’ button to check formatting looks ok before posting (and if not ditch it and start over in a new window). Ask if you need a hand. We can patch up any mistakes through the edit history so don’t panic.

If you are using weight loss injections you are welcome to post here, there is also a dedicated thread.

Anti-chubster thread:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Plenty of other health threads, exercise etc.
Health forums https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...

This is a POSITIVE thread, there’s always a numpty or two - try not to let that be you!

Thanks for putting the effort into compiling a new thread every year.
Much appreciated!

Very inspirational to see the progress of various members over the year!
Thanks to all for sharing and the positive vibe on the previous thread.

During the past year I haven't made the weight progress I had hoped for...
Managed to lose 15kg but put it back on due to stress, alcohol, bad eating habits.

Exceeded my targets for strength training and cardio, so that's something.
Intend to keep building on that for the new year...

Am crap at using spreadhseets and stuff, but the thread had some really inspirational members posting last year.

I started out at 21st4lb mid June and am now 16st12lb give or take a pound or so. My target was 16st (100kg). I feel this is achievable and am now going to reset my target to 15st 4lb, (97kg). I suspect things will get a little more difficult from here on in. I am taking mounjaro 7.5mg and will not go any higher than this, in fact the next pen I have is back down to 5mg. I train most every morning and walk and cycle when I can. I have totally changed my way of training over the last 3 month or so, maybe more, and concentrate on full range of motion, paused at the bottom of every movement, mind muscle connection and using myoreps to complete a given rep range. Niggles and injuries have been much less and although I have clearly lost strength, I feel I am working my muscles with more intensity than before. I had previously trained heavy all of my life so this has been a total culture shock!!

Good luck to all contributors, keep it up however you are doing it. Have a great new year all, peace and love aways, gbn x

2025 was probably my best year in a long time health wise.

I started the year at 146.6kg. The biggest I have ever been. Today I was 129.1kg. The lightest I've been in six years.

I stalled around 135kg and hit a blip due to stressed with home and work. Started using Wegovy two months ago and shifted 5kg in that time. My exercise has stopped due to work (literally working eight days, a day off and another eight days).

Two weeks time ive got an attachment to another department for a month before a course for a month. Im hoping I'll have time to do go to the gym regularly during that time.

Goal weight is 110kg at the moment. Maybe down to 100kg. We shall see.

2025 felt like a good year for me, but the seasonal meltdown remains (and is considerable). I seem to start each year at about the same weight, lose a chunk and then scoff it back on. Possibly better than being heavy all the time but I need to do something about it - and kind of feel like I'm getting there slowly!

Rome wasn't built in a day, nor likely built by tubby blokes in their fifties!

I absolutely want to continue making progress, get back to where I was in the summer and beyond. I'll do my first weigh-in early next week so that a water/body adjustment doesn't feel like I'm rewarding a pattern of behaviour.

Let's do this PH!

Not weighed yet, dropped from 237 pounds to a low of 192 just before Christmas, will have gained a little back but not gone too mad.

Aiming for 185, got ten weeks of Monjaro left, no booze now !

I’m about 84kg and targeting 73-75kg, currently laid up following a shoulder injury/operation so looking to get back to my 2020 fitness weight of 72kg if possible, I dropped 10kg that year in 10 weeks, but covid did help with doing 12-14hrs cardio with some calorie counting.

Will probably join in once I've weighed myself. Probably sitting at 15 stone at the moment @ 5'9". No particular goal other than to be less than this by the end of the year laugh

I'm in for another try. Really struggled to make any progress last year which I think is partly down to the medication I've had to take which makes me feel hungry all the time. Trying some different approaches this year. I've had great success doing fasting in years gone by but have struggled to 'drop' back into it without tearing my hair out. I know from past experience that exercise does bugger all for weight loss and it's all about the diet. Need to get my head into this year and stop fking about and making excuses. smash

Lets gooooooooooooooo
(as the kids say) hehe

Not dissimilar here.
Went from 90KG to 70KG in 2023.
Weighed in at 80.7KG on Boxing Day.
Target is 71-72 and to maintain this time. smile

I'm in for this year, my weight has crept up through drinking way too much alcohol at home; has become a daily thing in the evening, general diet is good, I walk alot, need to get back into my regular bootcamp sessions too.

So knocking the home drinking on the head, unless we are entertaining, which is isn't that often.

I've always been a daily weigher, but will update the chart weekly.

Good luck everyone.

So although the bulk of my weight loss was a 2025 thing, I’m going to be keeping up to date in here as phase 2 kicks in which is toning and shifting the last of it around my tummy.

The 2025 thread was an amazing source of inspiration and kept me going.

Good luck everyone aiming for their goals this year.

Been bumping around 20 stone for the last few months.

Time to get some shifted.

Dusted down the exercise bike and rower ready for starting the new regime on Monday.

Plan is to cut out eating the shyte between meals and last thing at night snacks.

Target it 16 stone by this time next year.

Chaps, I just built a site where you write a motivational message for a stranger, then get one back from someone else.

Might be useful when you're staring at the fridge at 10pm or want to jack it all in. Give it a try and any suggestions to make it better?

Back to 36 hour fasts once a week for me.

I did 5 weeks of it at the end of last year but had a week off this week.

It's been brilliant so far and while I don't track weight religiously I lost around a stone in those 5 weeks. My stomach and sides are noticeably smaller to the extent that my jeans are now starting to slip down if I'm not wearing a belt.

I've also felt generally far better for it overall, noticeably better mental clarity and improved sleep.

As December is a busy month generally I didn't do any exercise during those 5 weeks but will start to include weight sessions 3-4 times a week now so am expecting even better results.

I don't find it too bad physically for 36 hours. It's more adjusting mentally to not taking time out for meals.
