Red in the face after excercise

72, I've been a runner and a cyclist for years although cycling stopped a few years ago.
I get out for a run (slow shuffle) when I can. After a winter lay off I'm building up distance slowly currently at 6 mile.
When I get home my face/head is often very red, not quite beetroot but you get my drift.
Sign of something or just normal?

Can also be a side effect of blood pressure medications.
