I had a cam and pincer debridement of my dip in December, I had three months of no pain, with less pain a day after the operation than I had been in before the procedure. The surgeon was so sure my issue was solved he did not even book a follow up.

After 3 months of being free the issue has returned. Bupa assigned me a physio and as their treatment plan is not helping they will likely suggest I go see a surgeon again. They are suggesting it may be better to get a second opinion as opposed to going back to the same surgeon. The other surgeon is aligned to the same medical group as the physio, my cynical side says they are pushing the other surgeon as they are in the same medical group while the rational side says there is no harm in a second option.

For those that have been through anything similar which route would you choose, and why?

Unless you have reason to doubt them, I would go back to your original surgeon and then I would get a second opinion, I would do my own research as to who to see.

How did you find the original surgeon?

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking along the same lines. Bupa found me the surgeon as I was with another surgeon and just when I was about to book the operation he unfortunately went on long term sick.
