There are millions online aren't they - My Protien, Holland & Barret, Nutrition Geeks etc... but are there any that are known to provide good quality supplements in suitable doses?

I know human-potential.co.uk sell products that are safe for competing athletes (not me) to take without triggering false drug test failures etc but their product range is limited and I'm more interested in obtaining quality every day health supplements that do what they claim and in suitable dosage.

There are thousands. The biggest difference in quality is synthetic Vs food-sourced.

Generally, the high-street brands (Holland & Barrett/My Protein/Supermarkets/Seven Seas/etc) are synthetic. That's why a tub of 30-60 tabs will be £5-10.

For higher quality, you need suppliers/brands like Viridian, Pure Encapsulation, Wild Nutrition, Cytoplan etc. That same tub of £5-10 will be more like £30-50.

Personally I think the health supplements market is a bit of a racket and wouldn't bother with any of them

Heard some recent research on this that suggests it’s not just expensive urine after all. The benefits are small but statistically significant over time for multivitamins and the like, even with a balanced diet.

Probably so, but for things like Vitamin D which the body cant make, then supplements must be of some benefit in addition to diet, especially in winter?

I use vitamin d, magnesium, and folic, plus feroglobin in winter.

Not had a cold since I had Covid, and I feel fatigue when not taking them for long periods, so they get spells all year.
Very prone to depression in winter, they really help.

Body Kind website is the place to buy good, though the supplier I buy from them, can't think of name right now, is also available sometimes in H&B.

Dark Brown jars, metal lids, begins with s if I remember correctly.

That's the one. Used them for years, through Body Kind and occasionally H&B.

That’s true, and I’ve got family members who take it. I’ve never done so, but my wife and I cover it in our diet.

A lot is, but the core principle is very sound.

If you just believe what you see on Instagram, then yes, It's closer to your racket. But then, a lot of GPs blindly prescribing drugs is arguably the same.

But if you get a practitioner to detail a targeted supplement plan based on bloodwork it's a different matter.

I think your point about a lot of GPs blindly prescribing drugs had some validity in the past when it seemed the only sources of information was a copy of MIMS and whatever BS story a rep had told them, but GP education and practice has moved on a long way since those days
