So far I've tried nose strips and one of those really uncomfortable rubbery things I shove up my nose.
I'm not overweight (well.. not much).
Does anything actually help? Wife needs better sleep. Tonight I've elected to sleep on the sofa which is great for her, not so comfy for me. She's recovering after an op so really needs decent rest.

Sleep with your head and shoulders raised. Go as high as you feel comfortable with, lots of pillows, but make sure it's your shoulders too, otherwise you will get a sore neck.

I feel for you
Difficult trying to do the “right thing”

My snoring is variable per the “sleep tracker app”
Girlfriend says it doesn’t bother her, but I’ve sometimes woken myself up!
I usually let her get to sleep 1st unless I’m really tired

Having a drink makes me worse so I’d avoid an evening beer or wine, I bought anti snoring pillow, I think it reduces my snoring - I certainly get a more confortable sleep.

When we’re away- all lads together in bunks we have ear plugs /pods to allow us all to get to sleep

Want to swap girlfriends? Lol

It drives mine bonkers, mine is not always, when drinking its worse but I dont drink often, so know that causes it.

When I remember, before bed, clearing nose and some deep breathing through the nose works for me.

When I don't remember I get kicked, woken, and sent to the spare room lol, or wake to find her there.

For me, high pillows makes it worse, a single soft squidgy one is what I am getting used too.

Have you always snored or is it a new development? If new, a GP check up might help identify any causes.

I found this worked well for me. It's springy, so if you open close your mouth it stays in place ( I found some of the non spongy ones just fell out). It stops your lower jaw from falling back when you sleep - for me the cause of my snoring.

Obviously it depends why and how you snore wether it will work for you

Bought it on amazon, £30

I've been using the Longevity brand mouth strips for a while. Work really well, as evidenced by my SnoreLab app scores. Pulls your beard off when you remove it in the morning, mind.

My wife snores, situation was getting to the point where it was badly affecting my sleep, I tried earplugs etc to no avail.

She bought an anti snoring wedge pillow which miraculously solved the issue, I think it s something to do with fluid making the tissues around the neck swell up slightly while you’re laying down for long periods. Last week we were on holiday and didn t take the pillow, snoring started again, so seems to defo make a difference.

I did point out that it looks very similar to items available on websites where sleeping more quietly is not the aim biggrin

I used to breathe quite heavily out of my mouth when sleeping as my nose was always congested.

I lost quite a bit of weight (17st --> 12.5st) and it is incredible what a difference this makes, I now sleep silently and don't get the same perma-congestion I used to get.

I used to take sudafed spray which helped a lot, until i like many others basically get trapped in a cycle with it, you can't live without it - would never touch it again.

As above, alcohol makes it worse.

I tried the nasal strips, didn't do anything for me. A decent tempur pillow helped, however my girlfriend has taken claim now. I'll let her off given she is 8 months pregnant.

part of the conversation too. And following for wins.
Undoubtedly a shift of a stone back to where I was would help. as would less booze.

Stolen from somewhere else though : "My wife has noise cancelling fists"

My dad snoring was so bad he had an operation about 30 years ago!! Would have to ask him what they did as I was youngish at the time.

My wife snores due to sinus issues. Worse if she’s asleep on her back which seems to be the case for most snorers. I bought some decent earplugs which help massively. Downside is you become completely reliant on them.

White noise is unbeatable for me. We have a tower fan on every night even in the winter, just pointed away from us. Even take it on UK breaks now!

Great idea and totally get where you are coming from! smile Also forgot to say I stay in a lot of hotels for work trips. Your brain is in fight or flight mode a lot of the time as you aren’t in your own home and bed. Read that a while ago and kinda makes sense as never felt like I’d slept well in hotels. Earplugs help a lot I find as would indeed your tower fan!

I've ordered a Hiquo 27 degree memory foam pillow. I'll report back if any good...
Slight put of by the usual ubiquitous 'Only 6 left in stock' WARNING, but hopefully a good product.
