Have had a few bites while in Florida but never had a problem here in the UK....until this year, anyone else getting bitten regularly?

Last night while in bed I was bitten 3 times, any tips on what works to get rid of the little pests?

I'm not going to be much help with advice but this summer in SE England was pretty much my worst ever for insect bites. (Not sure what type though.) I am prone to bites but this year was really bad. So you have my sympathy.

They love me, I wear wrist bands most of the summer to try and keep them at bay but I still get bitten.

How do you know it was a mosquito?

This year was horrific - I'm usually a tasty target, but this year has been beyond anything I've experienced in the UK.

So much so, I got a electric zapper like chip shops have, on a timer for a couple of hours before bed (but after dark) in bedroom. It's definitely helped.

What's helped even more is the Beurer bite 'heater' I got off amazon for a few quid. Feels really odd - like it's 'just about' to burn you, but never does. It's amazing at stopping the reaction/itching.

There were more this summer due to the type of weather we had.

However, people saying they are around only in the warm months is a complete myth. They are year round here in Suffolk and certainly not helped by our neighbours fresh water pond in their front garden…they get loads in their house.

Not ideal but windows are kept shut quite a lot of the time to stop them coming in. Spend a bit too long standing about on the drive when it gets dusky and you will get bitten!

For the bedroom, we just used a mosquito plug like you might take on holiday and they work. Nicer than spraying yourself with deet before bed too!

If you couldn’t already tell, I absolutely hate them! I am always the one who gets bitten and try hard to keep them out.
