Potassium (via bananas) is believed to help IIRC. I seem to remember postassium helps settle nerves (not in the butterflies-in-the-stomach sense) and bananas are a good source of potassium.

Best thing I've found for it is an ankle support bandage! Get one of those sports ones that are quite tight and stick on before you go to bed, helps loads.

I find it gets considerably worse if I'm dehydrated as well, so make sure you're drinking enough fluids.

Not really a help but once i was standing in a que in Subway and there was a Chinese man infront of me that had a massive problem with kicking his feet back towards his arse, he kept on randomly doing it, very strange Chinese man that one.

My ex-gf had it, stress made it worse for her. Since I broke up with her I'm sure it's much better!

Take a bannana on toast at night and also have a whiskey, help settle nerves and helps you sleep better.

(1) Gaffa tape feet to exercise bike
(2) Hook bike up to a phone charger using wires or something.

Next morning, hey presto! You've charged your phone up a bit!

Winner.

I get something similar. Do you do it when your semi-conscious dreaming? I usually dream I am stepping of a bottom step or pavement and kick out, I then wake up (and sometimes kick my GF in the shins!).

First of all, I believe restless leg syndrome is about your legs needing to move around when you are lying down, it is not to do with spasming, which is caused by your brain getting confused and sending a jolt down to the limb to check it hasn't fallen off biggrin

1) Eat much earlier. About 5 hours before going to bed. Many cases are caused by your body still trying to digest food which you need to be up and about to do in the ideal world.

2) Stick a support, like a pillow, under your knees to keep them slightly bent as this will alleviate some of the cause.
