cant regulate my body temperature.... anything to help?
Discussion
in weather like this its difficult it takes me up to 30mins to settle the sweat and calm down, for example i went for a walk down regents st at lunch time and it was not pretty when i got back, is there anything i can do to sort it?
dry heat is easy, humid heat is horrible, it takes a while to cool down.
anyone else got this problem?
thankfully i dont smell when sweating, i just sweat...
when i lose a bit of weight it gets better but need something in the meantime til i get rid of the excess pounds.

I have no excess weight whatsoever. I find the only workable solution is simply not to venture out of range of the air conditioner all day, and only go out at night.
Cold or wet weather you can do something about ie. wear a coat, this f

t is insupportable, there's nothing you can do and what is worse it follows you indoors. And it's like this every bloody year. Aircon is not a luxury, it's an essential commodity.

As you say.. Cold or raining, put a coat on.. This weather, nothing you can do except swelter in the heat. Not on.
I think i'm going to invest in a proper home A/C unit.. Its worth it.
The only thing I can suggest is just to "think cool thoughts". I know that sounds really cheesy, but if you get stressed about being too hot then you'll just get hotter and more bothered. If you just slow down a bit - don't move too much, take cool baths, just slow your thoughts down a bit, then it might help. It certainly helps me.
I have heard that if you have a fan, put a damp towel in front of it to blow cooler air, but I've never tried it - my fan is in the loft and I can't get up there to get it down!

It takes longer to cool down in humid conditions as the process of sweat evaporating to cool down has less of an effect on body temperature. This also applies to blood, when you are hot blood is released to the outer cells of your skin to reduce temperature through conduction to air, when the ambient air temperature is higher, the effect is less so.dry heat is easy, humid heat is horrible, it takes a while to cool down.

Carrying a few excess pounds also wont help.

For years I was always boiling hot even in cold weather, now it seems
to have gone away and I'm always colder than everyone else. Doctors can
never find anything wrong with me so I've just given up and dress
accordingly. You probably ought to get your thyroid and pituitary gland
checked out. I've always found Doctors to be extremely poor at dealing
with problems like this so make sure you read them the riot act.
Driclor anti-perspirant is the way to go. You put it on at night and at
first it'll itch like hell, wash it off in the morning and use some regular
rightguard or the like. After a week you only need apply it perhaps twice
a week and it will stop underarm sweating.
One other problem I had was night sweats. After a quick read it became
immediately apparent that I must have a terminal illness. After blood tests
etc.. I was given a clean bill of health, the problem turning out to be a
duvet with a tog rating more appropriate to the arctic circle than rural
Berkshire, thanks to my missus always having cold feet.
In general I found that I got myself into a certain state of mind that didn't
help me "stay cool" if you get my drift.

I also suffer from the OH being cold during the day and so im nice and warm and ok and she seems to suck the heat out of me... then during the night she turns into a bloody radiator and im trying to keep cool and she is toasty and warm enough to fry an egg and I get smothered and I slowly fry and sweat like a bto have gone away and I'm always colder than everyone else. h.... doesnt help a chest that a werewolf would be pround of... tho suspecting that that might need a trim too in this heat.Im exactly the same, was diagnosed with hyperhidrosis (excessive overactive sweat glands) a few years ago. Went to see a specialist, had the usual tests, diabetes, thyroid etc and thankfully they all came back normal.
I have to use Driclor anti perspirant as nothing else comes close to stopping the sweat, was so bad before using Driclor that I could not even go out in a t-shirt, even in the winter as sweat patches would soon appear.....although harmless it is very, very embarrassing as the sweat would just fall off me when people around were not even slightly warm.
I have found the evian cooling spray to be quite useful, plus running wrists under a cold tap for few minutes but these aren't 100% effective, so I have had to change my lifestyle accordingly. I know there is an operation with involves deflating a lung then cutting a nerve, thus stopping parts of your body being able to sweat, just seems a little to drastic for me!!!!

I only get it during summer months or anytime im on the tube, so just put it down to the temperature is humid and sticky and my body takes a while to adapt to it to feel comfortable rather than sweating like a bI have to use Driclor anti perspirant as nothing else comes close to stopping the sweat, was so bad before using Driclor that I could not even go out in a t-shirt, even in the winter as sweat patches would soon appear.....although harmless it is very, very embarrassing as the sweat would just fall off me when people around were not even slightly warm.
