Any dentists around? A question about impacted teeth

I am hoping the PH dentists will be able to tell me what the medical process will be ...

I have an impacted tooth - above UL5 and 6. I can feel it if rub my finger around the top of my upper jaw. It is starting to feel a little uncomfortable. What would be the process for removal of such a tooth - would it be normal to remove the existing premolar or molar? I can't help but think it is not going to be a particularly pleasant process - can someone enlighten me as to what would be involved

Are you sure there's a tooth there? It's an unusual place to get an impaction. Without seeing some x-rays of the area, it's impossible to say what's likely to happen, sorry.

... unfortunately yes it is - I saw the Xray last week..
