One of my teeth crumbled a few weeks back and after a check up my dentist proposed doing a root filling. The tooth is now causing me pain when it's touched and when eating and is now loose in my mouth. Was due to see my dentist yesterday but she cancelled as she was unwell. Do the in house dentists think I will now lose my tooth? I'm also very tempted to work it even looser and pull it out out myself.

If it really is that loose, then just get rid of it.

On the other hand, what you think is looseness may just be a broken sliver of the tooth being held in by the gum, making the tooth eminently saveable.

Normally I would have had it taken out or pulled it myself but after researching the net it does appear that the tooth could be saved.

It's too close to the front not to save it or get a replacement etc.

thanks
