If that extra present is that important to you, then yes.

The SAD effect will kick in most in January so it will be more painful. I'd do it now so it's still 25 days before Christmas. The longer you put it off, the more of a you will look like. Damage limitation, really. Do it now and you'll still be called a .

Also, you'll get the "did you stay with me just through Christmas to get a present?" and "did you really lie to my mum saying you loved me on Christmas day?".

Life's too short to be unhappy. Best do it now so that you get it over and done with. Then you can get snoggage at New Year.

Seriously though, you'll be miserable if you keep up the pretense. I'm guessing that you've talked it through, tried to resolve differences and realised it is a no-goer?

I had an ex split up with me on the 2nd of Jan after having (what everyone thought was) a really good christmas together & it Really!! hurt. I wish he had done it before christmas so that I could have started the new year afresh rather than wondering what we would do together next.

Do it now rather than spend the festering season in misery.

Lets face it its never a good time but if your in a miserable relationship then as above do it sooner rather than later. get it out of the way and enjoy your Christmas.

There is absolutely no point in being with someone you dont like just for the sake of going through Christmas being miserable. It will probably cause resentment towards you wheneever you do it so you might as well do it now.

What will you put in the Christmas card if you stay together for Christmas?

Defo do it now, let her enjoy the christmas parties and subsequent nights after with someone new. Christmas is a great time for sexy time with randoms!

Do it now, and get on the Cristmas party scene.

Although you will ruin Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas...' for her for ever more.
