I'm 27, not exactly in 'race trim' wink and really quite unfit and work in an office so get little activity through the day.

My diet is okay, it could be better but I dont eat huge portions and eat fruit and veg every day and I have lost some weight through just watching what I eat.

Basically I really need to sort myself out but often find motivation is lacking and boredom comes quickly when I have tried exercising in the past.

The missus goes to the gym 3 times a week but is bored and has said she will do this thing with me to keep me company.

I am also not very flexible so I thought I would do yoga a couple of times a week inbetween running.

Any advice is welcome!

I’ve just started running and ridding my bike again. I’m down to 1 mile in under five minutes now, but the problem is the 1 mile run is to the pub and when I get there I end up having few pints and lots of pub snacks.
Thats erm....very quick...for someone just started running!

Just before I'm about to race I place a packet of pork scratchings and a pint just past the finsh line....it always gets me through the last few burning strides! smile

Is there a sprinters equivalent of the chunder mile (4 laps, 4 pints)?

Not that I'm aware of....anyway us sprinters are true athletes and our bodies are at the pinnacle of human perfection and would never stoop so low as to drink alcohol! wink

Actually I can usually do a pretty good impression of a chunder 1/4 mile without the aid of alcohol after a race!

It is manly down hill so that helps wink, and when I say I’ve just started its been a good few months now and I do a physical job so have always been quite fit, just not done any running.
Quoted for the obligory spelling mishap wink
