Wide fitting trainers/running shoes

Can anyone recomend a ladies wide fitting trainer?

I have a pair of adidas trainers which are about 8 years old (very rarely worn!) but i think they may have contributed to my recently dodgy knee by not supporting my foot properly.

Anyway i think i have wide feet (not fat before anyone jumps on that one!) as i tried a few pairs on recently and they were really narrow.

So any suggestions?

i have generally found (for the mens at least) a few of the distance shoes made my saucony to be quite wide. i think i used to have the 'grid hurricane' model so they might be worth a shot. go to a local running shop and they should be able to advise you. where abouts are you based?

and yes...8 years old for some shoes is not good!! i change mine every 6-7 months or so!

New Balance do width fittings but not many shops stock them...

Beat me to it. New Balance have an excellent range but tricky to track down. They sell online though.

seen you're in sussex, if you don't mind a trip out, i'd suggest going to alexandra sports in portsmouth. one of the better running shops i've been to (and i've been to a lot!)

lots of stock and the guys there seem to know their stuff.

Get to a proper running shop and get fitted, Fit 2 Run are Nationwide, no doubt there will be some closer to you.
