Hair clippers

Maybe one of the MX-5 owners can answer this one for me, can anyone recommend any decent hair clippers that don't cost a fortune? I usually go for a No.1 or 'no guards' all over every 2-3 weeks. I've currently got some cheapy Wahl ones that need taking apart, cleaning and oiling each time I use them, and even then its not the cleanest of cuts.

Nicky Clarke XTREME, ceramic blades give a really clean cut, cordless, waterproof so you can do a final close trim in the shower and easy rinse after use, all round great clippers with a wide range of guards. Argos and Boots do them I think.

Not sure what you class as to expensive but the true professional Wahl ones should last you a life time if you treat them to the odd oiling

I have these. Seem to have got a pretty crap review but they work fine for me (I don't use a guard and cut my hair once a week). Self-sharpening and I clean it by clicking off the blade and blowing away the hair after use, which takes about two seconds. They have a handy travel case as well.

dont by argos own brand ones, cheap for a reason. they pull hair out not cut it.

I'm after a new set too. I shave on the shortest setting possible, blades turned around so I get it really close. I've been using a babyliss I trim but battery has gone in it.

Needs to be rechargeable and ideally 0mm option. Can't find anything with that spec

I've got some Remmington cordless jobbies.

Used once a week and still going after 6 years. Cost me about £20 IIRC.

Wahl certainly seem to have the name but I'd look for professional grade clippers as they should stand up to a bit more abuse.

When a barbers shop was over the road from my workshop, I was always getting free haircuts by re-soldering the melted motor connections on their cheap & cheerful neck clippers so I'd say it pays to go for the slightly more robust versions.

Lots of ceramic bladed ones around too but not sure if that's marketing boswellox or if they're genuinely better & don't need the faff with oil.
