any doctors/sufferers, arthritis query

me old mum has started suffering from really bad arthritis, other than strong pain killers is there any solutions?
im aware its degenerative but are there any vitamins/potions etc that ease the suffering?

Might be worthwhile looking at what food she eats. Sour food (vinegar, lemons) tend to set my mum's arthritis off.

Has she seen a physio? Increasing the range of movement and particularly strength can work wonders for symptoms.
