So who is expecting a bundle of joy next year?

I am 21 weeks with our second. Our first, a girl, will be 26 months when this wee one makes it's appearance.

I spend hours completely forgetting I am pregnant, far too wrapped up in looking after a toddler.

Im 17 weeks with my little one. I have twins that are coming up to 6 years old, so its ratehr a large surprise to be pregnant again! Im due 15th Feb.

14 weeks gone here, it's our first.

All seems a long way off at the moment, but I'm told (by everyone) it'll fly by.

Mrs Drama is 13 weeks pregnant . This will be our second and we've decided not to tell our 3 year old daughter about the baby just yet - 7 months of being asked "when is the baby coming out of mummy's tummy?" might become a tad tedious

Had a scan this morning, but its curled into a tight ball so no measurements could be taken and no peeping at the important stuff. Guess we can find the flavour out next time! Hope you are all doing well x

Mine was being difficult at our 20 week scan last week too (I'm due 1st Feb). First half of the scan, she wouldn't stay still so it was difficult to get the readings; the second bit where she needed to move, she fell asleep in the 'wrong' position and I had to go and jump up and down in the car park for 5 minutes (I felt like such a prat!). Eventually managed to get all the required readings and found out it was a girl, which we're thrilled about as it's what we wanted

Had our 20 week scan this morning (at 21 weeks) and its a boy!. Full steam ahead for a Jan 31st birth... Mrs 'thehut is finally able to start to colour co-ordinate his clothes and I really have to motivate myself to sell the 5 and buy a more practical motor.
Big congats to everyone who is expecting. Only a few years 'till I can take him to le mans with me.

Wow, i remember reading the PH parents of 2010 thread & posting that we were going for our first scan soon.
She's now 34 weeks, due the 3rd November, people said time would fly but the last 2 months feel like they've been about 2 weeks long!

Seems like baby Bluto is giving me cause for concern. Im now diabetic, quite severely so and this morning lost some water. At 21 weeks pregnant its rocked me badly. Been examined and they say all is still intact there and no signs of labour etc but to take it easy and see what happens. They also made sure i was aware that if i was to go into labour now the baby would not survive. Nothing like positivity, esp with my husband in Russia for the next 10 days and two little ones to look after on my own. Now i cant stop my brain working overtime on all the what-ifs. Hope the rest of you are doing better!

What if your worrying is making things worse?
What if you palmed the kids off with a friend or relative and got yourself off this weekend for a bit of 'me' time? If my wife were in that position and I were away (which I am, frequently) I'd tell her to hang the expense and get off somewhere to relax - or at least to get some time to herself with one of her mates and a credit card


What if it all goes well and the baby is born fine (the most likely outcome, when you think about it)?

Thinking positive thoughts for you!

Im resting up as much as i can, but having the kids here is helping me keep grounded - id just end up crying all the time and making things worse if i was alone. Im hoping tomorrow's scan and appointment will shed some light and give me some positivity. So far im scared witless and thinking every twinge is labour starting. Will be going for a bath shortly and to work on my positive thinking. Got to be better than sitting here and letting the anxiety grip me.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Fingers crossed it all goes well today.

Makes me realise my issues are only minor niggles - GP's receptionist decided I wasn't allowed to have any more midwife appointments as I was out of their catchment area, despite the fact I checked when we moved and the other Doctor in town isn't accepting any new patients. Plus she then refused to give me my test results. I really have had enough of the power-tripping, unhelpful admin/receptionists in my local PCT.

So far so good. No more fluid leaking, no more blood, strong heartbeat and it seems our little one is a girl! I still need to rest and take it easy but they basically said if im going to go into labour then i will and there isnt anything i can do about it. I appreciate the honesty from them. So now its a waiting game for a few weeks and hope she hangs on in there and causes no more troubles! Thanks for all the good wishes xxx

DXB, so what are you meant to do then?? Just not have a midwife? Try ringing the hospital and see if they can help xx

20 week scan shows we're also having a girl. Probably. For some reason the scan-woman (I'm sure there's a proper name for them) was a bit cagey.
When we asked her she wouldn't really commit, she said she couldn't see a 'tail' so it was probably a girl, but wouldn't say 100% which seemed odd as she was otherwise full of information, telling us what she was up to and what was being measured.

I wondered afterwards if it was hospital policy, if they get it wrong are they worried parents might sue them for the cost of repainting the pink nursery or something?

Its very obvious when you see a boy on screen, but less so when they see a girl. They usually say they cant see any boy parts there so its probably a girl but no guarantee! Judging by how my other daughter has behaved today im keeping my fingers crossed this one is a polar opposite of her or i shall be needing valium.
