They've got a cold or flu. NOT swine flu.
Yes maybe but whatever it is, it appears to be very contagious.
Apparently this winter's flue jab, given to vulnerable groups, contains the swine flu vaccine and the normal flu vaccine. No option whether you get both or not.
My mum had the swine flue last year and it made her quite unwell along with lots of her friends. She is in two minds about having this years jab because of this.

My boy caught it last year whilst in hospital for something else. They told us it was just a cold...
He wasn't even one at the time and the coughing got so bad he punctured a lung and started to inflate. Back into SM hospital (luckily he's an open door patient) and they swabbed him for swine flu. Problem was the test results took a while to come back, his condition worsened and he was transferred to JR hospital as SM weren't confident in their ability to treat him. By the time the test results came back he'd been in almost a week - test results positive and then he's moved to isolation. Having been round us and everyone else for a week or so....

FFS no wonder the GPs are so stupidly busy, if you're an indication of the general populous that is.
It’s an observation really. Just about everybody I have come in contact with over the last week or so have or has had a bug with those sorts of cold or flu symptoms. Another thing I’ve noticed is the women would appear to be suffering the worst in this instance.
Perhaps it’s just a coincidence.

I am asthmastic - apparently moderately so. I am fine if I keep taking my inhaler. I was told I might want the flu jab - should I bother?
