I had ultrasound as part of the treatment for a tear in my Achilles tendon. It was used in the early stages of treatment by my Physiotherapist. I was also given different types of exercise to do as part of the programme.

i have no idea if it will provide any benefit in isolation. I would certainly recommend seeing a Physiotherapist, if you have not done so already.

I had a course of ultrasound for Gastrocnemius tendonitis a few years back. I went twice weekly and along with rest it was sorted in 6 weeks or so.

Go see a physio, ultrasound may well form part of treatment but there's a whole heap of things you should do alongside it.
