For several weeks now, every time I get in and especially out of the car I get a shrap pain in the right groin and a lesser pain often when moving in bed or while changing position in a chair. Not being a premiership footballer I wondred if this could be the famous 'groin strain' anmd how it cam be treated before I miss matches?

TBH it's next to impossible to diagnose or treat over the interweb so go see a physio. Even your description of "in my groin" could mean hip joint or adductors.

I was hoping for a quick fix before tghis weekends big games. The pain BTW is towards the top of the groin near the hip.

'quick fix'

Dream on.You'll need a physio and ultrasound and massage if it's adductor related. You say it's 'near the hip'?..If you can feel a lump/bulge (above the groin) it

could be a hernia.

Sorry to say this but groin strains are notorious, i currently have one and as a runner it is a nightmare to get rid of due to trying to continue training with it. As said above it could be numerous areas mine is psoas related but i get pain in both the inner groin and the hip. Mine is related to tight hips so if you do a lot of sport and don't do much flexibility work then the hip flexors can give you lots of different troubles. As i have found out! from shin splints to it band to groin to back pains, your hips can be a right bugger!

Do you have any signs of a lump there? As has been said could well be a hernia, or the start of one.

Speaking with experience, a hernia in that area does not always produce a lump, get a scan booked. I had a feeling of discomfort around the area of the left bk area, had a scan done which showed a tear so he checked the other side and I'd blown that too.

That's still a bit vague I'm afraid. Can you mark it on here:
