I have an ailment that's getting worse, so rather than go to the GP I thought I'd the sensible thing and ask a load of petrol heads!

If I go from a warm house, outside, or come in from the cold into a warm house or the office, or have a hot steamy bath I have coughing fits and lots of very watery fluid comes up from my lungs.

Its almost like my lungs are steaming up inside like someone that wears spectacles mists up!

Its been going on for some months, maybe a year and is getting worse.

Today I went for a strole out of the office at lunchtime and was really struggling with the coughing, I shortened my walk as a result.

I'm over weight, unfit and have high cholesterol and do very little exercise!

Anyone have an idea of what it might be?

In the last few weeks its got bad enough that I am going to book an appointment with the qwack.

i think you should see a doctor sharpish, but drive there. is that enough of a PH style answer.

seriously go to the docs, you can drown on dry land if you have water in your lungs apparently.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's probably only lung cancer.

Coughing, normal. Fluid, not so much. Don't fk around, go and see a doctor. When's your appointment?

In the meantime, scarf or similar over nose and mouth (not too tight!) will help a bit.

This continued to get worse so I finally went to the doc, he sent me for chest xrays and to blow into a peak flow meter for a fortnight.

Been back today, xrays all clear, lungs and heart looking good.

Peak flow not so good, between 510 and 590 over the two weeks, he says I should be more consistent and higher.

So I have been prescribed and inhaler of some stuff and have to go for a spirometry, he thinks its ass-mer.
