I believe the average is around 75 bpm.

I just took mine, and for some reason it's only 48 bpm, bp normal at 115/75.

I'm certainly no athlete, average height/weight/build, so I wonder why it's that low? As there's no other symptoms I assume it's healthier lower than higher.

So is anyone lower than 48 bpm tonight?

in some countries , germany for example , a low heart rate is considered just as unhealthy as a high one. or so i seem to recall somebody telling me this twenty years ago

A low heart rate may sometimes be linked to a low blood pressure.

Mine's usually about that when sitting/lying, relaxed.
Last check up bp and all else was fine.

Mine is 64 at the moment. I have fairly low blood pressure (basically at the very bottom end of what's considered healthy, or so I was told).

Last time I checked mine it was 52bpm. Few times I've had blood pressure checked it has been fine.

For the record I am 24, 6ft and a little under 13 stone. I do train 6 days a week for rowing though.

About 70, and must admit CV wise I'm pretty unfit. Was about 60 back in my school days.

Not sure, 75-80 when I've checked. Blood pressure's ridiculously low though, usually 90ish over 50ish. Started getting quite light headed randomly so I think a doctor's visit is in order soon eek

Mine ranges from ~48 in the winter to ~41/42 in the summer depending on the level of training i've done during the year.
At my fittest a good few years ago it was down to 38 (all verified with a heart rate monitor)

90, but I blame that on the fact that I'm only little, like a mouse!

My best, over 3 mornings at the same time, was 43 bpm.

I have, however, put on a bit of weight since then so I expect it to be a bit higher now.

At the minute about mid 50s, but during the summer when I'm on the bike a lot, it'll be in the high 40s. Lowest I ever recorded over a period of a few days was 44 bpm.

BP was "spot on" according to the GP last time I had a check up, though he didn't give me the actual numbers.

Had a BP test last week and my pulse was 48. BP was a bit on the high side.

A quick google shows a low pulse rate (bradycardia) may be a cause for concern if it's consistently below 40bpm. Similarly, a resting heart rate >100bpm (tachycardia).

Big Mig had a RHR of 32! But he was a monster with something like a 7 litre lung capacity.

OP, do you feel light headed if you stand up quickly?
