Hurts to swallow on one side

Rather strange...
I picked up a bug a couple of weeks ago, usual thing, started with a sore throat and progressed through the cold and cough stages, but the throat persisted unusually. My voice pretty much went but worked through it (involves a lot of talking!).
Anyway, it's pretty much gone now, just feeling a bit run down, but the throat persists. Went to the doc yesterday feeling like a timewaster and he checked my glands/chest and had a look and seemed to think I was fine.
It feels worse today though, and it seems worse that it was this am now! It's really quite special pain when I swallow, seems concentrated on the right side of my neck just to the side of my adam's apple.
I don't feel I can go and bother the doc with it again, not for a few days anyway. It occurred to me that it could be a wisdom tooth as I have had infections before and I know the lower ones do have long roots.
Any ideas?

Had (still have) exactly the same and didn't want to bother dr. Went yesterday and he took blood and says it is Glandular fever (will know for sure on monday) Thing is i dont have lack of appetite or major fatigue to be honest. Checked my tonsils in mirror earlier and the right one is covered in pus. This supposedly doesn't happen with GF so i think its hard tonsilitis. Will find out for sure on monday which is a pain because if they sorted me some antibiotics i could be on the road to recovery right now!
