Anyone else feel like this?
Mid afternoon, whether I am working or not, I sometimes feel completely knackered and fit for my bed. My whole body feels like lead and everything is an effort. By about 4pm or so, the feeling lifts and then I'm fine.
I'm mid 40s, good health. Rarely drink, non-smoker. Not diabetic (I checked my BM yesterday mid-dip and it was 5.6). I get a decent night's sleep (normally).
Any ideas? Thanks.

Check out the GI diet. I used to suffer from this (and still can if I eat the "right" foods). Basically, avoid high GI carbs ie simple carbs. The body processes the food too quickly so you get the sugar rush, the insulin rush, the subsequent dump and the need to sleep. As a side effect of following the GI diet, you will lose weight.

'tis true
In an effort to shift a bit of weight I've changed from ham and cheese sandwiches on white bread to wholemeal pitta bread with tuna at lunchtime. Straight away I noticed I wasn't getting that mid afternoon crash.

I sometimes buy food, usually snacks, for my sister. I sometimes buy her white bread rolls just because I know she will definitely use them then email me from work at around 2.30pm on a Tuesday or Wednesday to complain that she can't keep her eyes open.

I believe all humans have a natural dip around 3pm. I read it somewhere.
correct... Naturally we all dip in the afternoon before perking up again later.. And afaik most car crashes happen around this time tooGassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
