Any ideas what's going on here?

Wondering whether anyone can shed any light on what's happened here...?
For the last couple of days I've had what feels like a bite on my side. It's just out of sight toward my back, but tonight I took a photo of it as it has become very, very painful. It's tender over the red area and feels very inflamed. There are smaller lumps around it with what seems to be clear fluid in them. Should I be thinking about getting a doc to take a look? I've not been abroad or anywhere unusual.

I had very similar on my leg once.
I left it for a week until it got too painful - I ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics.
Turned out I had Cellulitis originally caused by an ingrown hair follicle, made worse by getting a grass seed stuck in the follicle.
So yes - either Drs or NHS walk-in.

Good idea.
I won't tell you about the nurse wanting a swab from it only to tell me there was no point giving me a local anaesthetic.
Wish I'd insisted on one when she plunged a great big cotton bud deep into the wound and wiggled it about a bit....

Very much doubt it!

No appointments today, but I can take my chances with the walk-in clinic tomorrow morning apparently. Will just dose up on painkillers today. Didn't sleep well; whatever it is made me uncomfortable. My ribs that side hurt like I've been kicked. Very odd.
Do you not have any walk in centres near you? That looks like it wants seen today really, is the red area any bigger than yesterday?
Red-flag things: If you start getting high temperatures and/or notice big red streaks radiating away from it, that means that it's threatening to turn properly nasty and would mean that you'd really have to see a doctor today one way or another.

I'm over in Portsmouth at the moment working... Will see if there's a walk-in clinic anywhere near here that I can pop into as it's lunchtime.
Haven't looked at it since last night as there's not much I can do even if I know what it looks like...
I'm still in pain when I move, but a new symptom today; my right elbow feels really sore and I'm finding simple tasks like lifting my laptop very painful. Other than that and the sore ribs, I feel fine.
