Despite having had my specs only a year I was finding distances harder to see so went for a fresh eye test.
Sure enough needed stronger lenses, for both distance and reading so had some new lenses in the same frames.
Had them a couple of weeks now but still can't get on with them. Went back to optician who made a slight adjustment of the frame which helped a little and said I'd have to learn to move my head more (like I did when I first had varifocals).
Although I can see well at the extremes, furthest and closest, reading this screen, or a book is difficult, eyes feel tired and pulled and it seems hard to 'aim' at what I want to read. I appreciate moving my head up or down will make it lose focus, but it's also blurred at the slightest angle off centre, so have to look straight on, like through the smallest zone.
I was thinking I should ask for the glasses to be checked against the prescription, or a re-test. Does that sound a good idea or is it something I just need to get used to?
I have the old and new prescriptions if that's useful, but would appreciate any thoughts.
Cheers
Nick
