OC posted this vid in another thread
http://www.brinkzone.com/videos/how-your-supplemen...

It made me think aboot supplements. I'm no hard taker, but sometimes I have a crack at them when I am in the middle of a regime.

What do you lot think of Glutamine? Does it work? Have any of you good knowledge on good quality glutamine products?

Thanks OC. That's what I would like this thread to become. I have a friend who has become a regular gym goer in the past 6 months and he has started taking it. He takes it before and after with a protein drink. He says that he think he has more pep/energy during his gym session, though he doesn't know how much is the placebo effect.

I have just bought some while browsing on Amazon, forget the brand name. I shall try taking it before gym and see. Though I am not very good at gauging stuff like this.

OC, I see you mentioned Jack3d in the protein thread.
What did it do for you? Have looked on the brinkzone but it doesn't have anything on it.

No-xplode is much the same. I love it however do get jittery and on occasion a little paranoid off it so have stopped.

Coming toward the end of my ECA cycle soon so am going to post up my turbulent tales!

I use Jack3d pretty regularly - although tend to cycle 3 weeks on 1 week off, as it starts to become less effective after taking it for a bit. I definitely feel a difference with it - seems like I can workout for longer total time, with quicker recovery between sets. It also gives what I'd call a good focus - and I don't know whether it is that or a placebo effect, but I tend to lift heavier when taking it.

I MUCH prefer it over N.O.Xplode, which I ended up giving away the second half of the tub. N.O. seems to make me a lot more Jittery and shaky. Jack3d seems more mellow, but lasts for longer.

I DO have issues with either of these when trying to sleep if I do an evening workout though.... if I take it after about 6pm I will get very poor sleep until about 2am when it finally seems to wear off. It's tended to push me towards lunchtime workouts.

I've used Jack3d a bit (and it's NZ copy Cursed) and it's great to start with, but most people I've spoken to have been like me and built up a tolerance to it quite quickly, even after taking a month off from it the effect doesn't last long.

For Pre-workout supplements I've also tried Superpump and Size-on and didn't really notice much size going on.

Only one thats seemed to work for me is NaNo-Vapor (awaits the Muscletech flaming lol).

What do you out there think of creatine mono versus the 'purer' versions?

Creatine doesn't make a huge difference as it is to strength IMO (although it does make SOME). So any differences between creapure or creatine mono IME makes sod all difference.

So I'd buy whatever is cheapest.

Are you still on the creatine or did you stop because of your liver function results?

Which whey proteins are people using?

Im currently using the BBW Premium Whey stuff, its very tasty and has decent protein amount along with glutamine and BCAA's, but looking to up my protein and carbs now to bulk so maybe I should try a different one?

Just been looking at the 90+ stuff, anyone used that?

From GoNutrition.com

Some of you may have known my previous business MYPROTEIN®, which I founded in 2004 and then later sold in 2011. Why is this relevant? Well, primarily I know what customers expect in terms of service, quality and innovation. Furthermore, as sports nutrition is fundamental for anyone wanting to improve their athletic performance, we aim to surpass expectations on all fronts.

BTW, if you order @ Go Nutrition (spend minimum of a tenner) if you enter U9JFE1 at the checkout, you'll get 250g worth of free protein.

I hope referral codes are allowed & thanks in advance. smile

Hmmm, interesting. I'm about to begin supplementing pre- and post-workout.

I'm expecting to have a shake half an hour before a 45-60 minutes weights session and immediately after. Pre-workout shake is Impact Whey Protein and EAA.
Post-workout shake is Impact Whey Protein, Maltodextrin (or Dextrose) and EAA.
I'm taking BCAA in the mornings too.

Hoping the fish oils help!
