A few weeks ago I wasn't feeling very well and I mentioned this to my Doc whilst there on another matter.
Dr was a bit concerned when she took my BP. After a couple of weeks monitoring my BP (still feeling very under the weather) she put me on Ramipril.
3 weeks on and my BP is still high and I feel terrible.
I have a constant dull headache and feel very very weak.
The last two days I have had visual disturbances like little tadpoles of light swimming around my field of vision, I feel awful and my chest feels very heavy.
So my question. Anyone here on Ramipril for high blood pressure and do you have symptoms like mine.
I'm going for a check up with the nurse tomorrow and will try and see a Dr then but I might just go to casualty if this gets worse tonight.

Not the same medication, but a similar story.
I was on verapamil to treat high BP for a few years and found myself getting weaker and weaker. Kept my fitness routine going, but found my fitness deteriorating even though I was doing the exact same activities ... personal trainer, gym 5 times a week, mountain biking, running etc. Just got weaker and weaker and put it down to lazyness. Eventually stopped all my fitness activities as I just could not do them.
I mentioned this to my doctor on each of my 6 monthly reviews, but nothing came out of blood test etc.
Eventually it got too much after suffering a long stint of heavy chest, headaches and "dead" muscles after just walking up stairs or short distances... I'm talking a 30 second walk here but it felt like I ran a half marathon!!!
Back in January I told my doctor again and that I was getting really concerned now. Without hesitation he changed my BP medication and I'm noticed a big difference withing a couple of weeks and now starting to get back into some fitness.

Thanks for that and you seem to be spot on.
Late in replying as I spent today in hospital after being ordered to go by my Dr.
BP was very high today and with the chest pains and cough I have, they thought best I go to A&E.
Turns out the meds don't seem to be agreeing with me after all.
Feel like crap tonight though.
