I tend to be in places where people have to tlak very loudly (often with elderly, at home). A couple of times quite infrequently, people have screamed in my ears, leaving it feeling funny.

Can this be damaging?

Yes. Repeated exposure to very loud sounds can permanently damage hearing.

As to how loud or how much damage a shout might do ... YMMV.

I have been to numerous thrash metal and grunge outfits in my days on this earth.

Nothing compared to the bloody tiny tempah gig i was taken to at the 02 arena in Glasgow fairly recently.

Now ive a constant ringing in my ear , ya gotta love tinitus

Remember boys and girls you can seriously screw your ears , be careful out there.
