A (female) friend of mine has just asked me what I think about taking appetite suppressants.

Now, she's not exactly a fking heffa, but she also isn't a rake.

I have said that I don't think it a particularly good idea, but I don't really know why.

'Apparently' all they do is turn the switch off in your brain that says you're hungry (according to the sales pitch).

Any good/bad experiences with these? Or any info to support my point of view?

Cheers

Just tell her to watch that video about girls and a cup. I haven't even seen it, but the thought of what it's supposed to be suppresses my appetite.

Get her to watch Requiem for a Dream first biggrin

IMO, drinking plenty of water does much the same thing. Also slow the pace of eating right down so you can recognise when you're no longer hungry and stop, rather than eating until full.

Depends which ones she is going to use and if she is happy with the side effects.

Thermobol or Hydroxycut is ok, but can make you hot and sweaty and a bit itchy.

There's also the home brew method of asprin and pro-plus.

Ephedrine is ok, a bit difficult to get hold off, and makes you light headed. Some people seem to get a little dependent on it.

But these just mask a lack of personal responsibilty. The best way is up the exercise and lower the intake, maybe with a CLA supplement (I do actually think CLA actually works from personal experience).

There's other ways, but a sensible approach is a must.

Well, I don't think anything like that is a particularly good idea.

Surely just engage that unusual product - willpower.

Just because some people are retards, doesn't mean you need to perpetuate the cult.

100x this. Thirst feelings and hunger feelings are also easily mistaken for one another.
Might as well drink half a pint of water first, then reevaluate if you're really hungry. No calories in water, init.

If it's true, tell them to sell it to a big pharma company (e.g. GSK). The only licensed appetite suppressant until recently was reductil. However, that was withdrawn because it increased the risk of strokes and heart attacks in patients.

Until you see no obese doctors around, you can safely assume that there's no magic diet pills available.

Ephadrines are evil things. They are like weak ecstasy. Heart rate jumps, Light headed etc.

Pfff - amateurs.
Why not be the perfect gentleman and tell her she's perfect as she is.
Research shows this could increase the chances of a shag by 37.5% on average.
