Blue Moon Rising

This was a great film about what it is to be a proper football fan (ITV4 10pm last night).
Yes, it was about Man City, who may ultimately become as disliked as United eventually for all the usual reasons, but at this point in time it truly showed the passion, hope and fear of (frequent and inevitable) failure that all fans endure for the love of their team.
Unfortunately the period covered in the film was the 2009/10 season before City realised just how far the current adventure would take them, but then to some degree that was the point, they were at the time of filming still on the way up and still vulnerable.
I particularly enjoyed the bit where one of the fans said that he hated United so much that he wanted them to lose, whoever the opponents. He then said if United were playing "oh I dunno, say Iraq" (substitute with Taliban, Argentina, Millwall, Travellers etc as you see fit) then he still wanted them to lose
Of course, for City the future is bright and that is what all fans hope for their team after following them with years of failure and disappointment (except the w
k3r fans who just support a team because they always win things).
Great TV, and a must see for all footy fans and players too.
I am a Crystal Palace fan. I know all about failure and disappointment, trust me.
(Mods: apologies if this should have gone into the 'TV, Film & Radio' forum...)
