how many points to be safe in the prem

As per the title how many points do you reckon will be needed this year to be safe. Most years i think 40 is the magic number.
What do you think for this year.

IMHO, 38 will be safe this year. I cant see the likes of Blackburn, Bolton or Wigan from the position they are in at the moment, picking up more than 22/23 points between the end of the season... There really are some poor teams down the bottom who would probably only be mid table in the champ...
