. . . Lionel Messi. Who else.

Just watched him score his fifth quality hat-trick of the season for Barca, and to think he could end up with a possible 60 goals this season! The mind boggles to be honest.

He is mustard. Wonder how he would fare in the Prem? Stronger defences, tougher tackles.

Plus the free kick that bounced out after hitting the crossbar - somewhat unlucky.

Different gravy in the current game!

You could argue he is possibly the best player of all time

He looks wonderful in Spain.

He couldn't do it over here though. He gets so much protection over there in that tackles are hardly allowed.

You only have to look at his form and performances for Argentina to see that it's his club that make him tick.

Couldn't do it on a wet Monday night in Stoke biggrin

On the tackles front, I think he's been kicked plenty in La Liga, the most recent King's Cup Clasico being a good example.

I was working at the UCL Final at Wembley last year, and met Messi twice. Once before the pre-match press conference, and again after the match.

Not only is he a genius on the ball, but he is the most polite, considerate and all round "good guy" footballer I have met (and I have met quite a few)

utter legend, just watched both the barca and madrid games, ronaldo got 2penaltys and looked averaqge at best.
messi gets a hat trick of qualtiy goals.

i think he'd piss the premier league also as he gets kicked up and down more or less everyweek.

Utter rubbish. if you've seen the games against Real Madrid he gets hacked to pieces (and still normally scores)

He has also ripped Arsenal and Man U to pieces in the champions league several times - even scored a header against Man U in the 2009 final despite being a foot shorter than their defenders.

The bit I like, apart from the undoubted genius, is the fact he plays with a smile all the time.

Looks like a kid playing, just having fun.

The game is meant to be enjoyable and it's nice to see someone at the highest level doing that.

Amazing player. The ball seems to go wherever he wants it too, sticking to his feet as he dribbles past 4 players then puts it past a keeper who knows he has no chance of saving the shot.
