He's talking sense, nothing more to add. If the FA can't see that then they'll appear more idiotic than they already do.

As has been discussed within, the FA should hurry up and produce the code they've been working on. It would prevent the need for a separate set of decisions every time something happens and the resultant trial by media. You could also argue it will lessen the ability of the press coverage to affect criminal trials too, as no inference could then be drawn on the FA choosing to stand a player down or not.

Yeah chaps, I wasn't particularly referring to how the FA is dealing with the JT issue or the Respect campaign/code of conduct really. I was more referring to Capello breaking ranks from the FA and openly criticising them. Is his position becoming untenable?

Doesn't he leave after the Euro's anyways? He's maybe just fed up towing the "FA" line!

Typical FA crap really.

There's two points from Capello
1. Decision on JT's captaincy should be after he is "convicted", not before - Not 100% sure if I agree but can understand his viewpoint.
2. Capello, the manager, was not consulted - this is where I 100% agree with Capello. The manager should be integral in this decision making (even if "outvoted" at the final decision). They have completely undermined the managerial position.

I would not be surprised if he resigned over this, many other "top" managers may also be put off the job. Well done FA rolleyes

I agree with Capello,

Innocent till proven guilty,

and just to add, my personal view is that racism/racists are brain dead fkwitts, though far to many people in this country play the pc/race card.

It will always come down to contractual arrangements. The FA will want to part with Capello for as little as possible, Capello will want to ensure his pay pot is as big as possible.

All the crap in the press about people having principles is just that- crap. Money talks.

Good for Capello.

This is the 2nd time JT has been stripped of the captaincy wrongly. If I were JT, I'd release a statement saying he's decided to strip England of his services, and walk away.

He doesn't get paid for playing for England (well he does, but gives it to charity) and he gets £160K/week at Chelsea, where his efforts are appeciated. It's a no brainer.

What is the point in the FA appointing a manager then undermining him and effectively picking the squad?

Capello is in charge, let him manage the team as he sees fit.

Terry or Capello?
ooh! Can I choose both please?

In reality, Capello, not too fussed about the Terry saga, i have never been at all convinced by Capello though.

I'd like to see this saga end with both Terry and Capello surplus to requirements....

First, JT. Controversy just seems to follow him around, so I think enough is enough. Thank him for his past commitment to England, and "invite" him to retire from internationals. We need to be bringing in younger, quicker options at the back anyway.

Then there's Capello. I can see why he would be annoyed - surely he should have some say in who the captain is? But he should have been shown the door after the World Cup. After all the rhetoric about picking fit, in-form players we still took (for example) Gareth Barry. In my book it takes more than a bit of gurning and arm-waving on the touchline to make an international coach. Oh, and then there's the cunning plan to base ourselves in Poland for the Euros - despite our group games being in Ukraine! Surely Harry could do a better job from his prison cell, "Mr Bridger" style?

Bit of an exaggeration there. Terry is still available for selection.

The FA have just taken action to prevent the outside possibility of the European Cup being held aloft by a Captain 8 days before he becomes a convicted racist. Which, I'm sure you'll agree, would be embarrassing for everyone.

It also removes the issue from clouding every single Manager and Captain press conference before and during the competition.

Hopefully it also means Terry can be dropped, removing his corrosive influence on the squad, half of whom are desperately keen to avoid being seen with him...

so he's on his way to meet the FA.

the FA really are a joke. poodles to the premier league and doing a show of power over the england situation that once again ahs been appalingly handled by them.

why let the manager have a say in who is the captain but not jwho isn't? capello was right imho to voice his concerns.

he's being tried by media (both printed and social). why don't we try to shoot our selves in both feet whilst we're at it.

a decent qualifying campaign and a tourney to look forward to if one thing taught us about recent tournaments its about stability and togetherness...

ok perhaps Terry shouldn't play or be captain, but lets do it on his playing merits not kangaroo media bullst.

If he walks it will deserve the FA right. Cue endless speculation about a replacement who won't be in post for long enough to make a difference....

cue capello taking another team to success as he has done in the past...

Completely agree, this is a joke.

I heard on radio, "If Capello doesn't like it, he can quit". Their handling is pants, they look like a bunch of s
