You don't see 'em anymore, certainly not top-flight, anyway.
As a Liverpool fan, you've got to go back to our last for league success!
So, when was the last, has there been one in the EPL, or do we go back to Dalglish in the old 1st Division?
Is it viable in the "modern" game, with the FA coaching requirements etc?
And who, if anyone, could do a job now?
Gerrard?
Lampard/Terry - a cynic could argue the "manager" was on the pitch last night wink

Any other suspects?

Didn't Hoddle player manage at Chelsea back in the mid 90s?

Dennis Wise did the same at Milwall a few years ago.

Can't see it working at Chelsea. It would be a pain to have to sack a manager who is also a decent player hehe

Vialli and Gullit both did it for Chelsea I think.

i remember gullit subbing himself on when cheslea were loosing and royallly fking it up further

i dont think it will work simply because the manager will always think hes better than everyone else.

OK, not the manager so may not "count" but the assistant manager Mauricio Taricco at Brighton has played a few games this season but more "stepping in" (although he is v good) and, as I say, he's the assistant so doesn't need to worry about decisions.
