What's with all these mini shinpads!

Has anyone else noticed that decent shinpads that actually cover your shins don't seem to be available anymore?

I have snapped my trusty guards and need replacements but they all seem to be made for the vertically challenged or only provide protection the size and thickness of a beermat!

I'm not particularly tall (6ft) but I'm struggling to find anything suitable, does anyone have any recommendations for decent shinpads, up to £25?

I've had a look at pro-direct but there seem to be loads of socks with beermats and after looking in the shops I'd rather know the dimensions before I make a purchase because the ones that were a large barely covered my ankle!

Thanks for any help, luckily I have a week off this week so I have a bit of time to find them and get them delivered.

Funny you should mention this actually! I noticed on Sunday how many of our players had what I called "kids" shinpads! They were incredibly small & offered very little protection! I have these & wouldn't settle for anything less.

Cheers, I'll have a look for them then and see what they're like in the 'flesh'.

I had a pair of Nike's a little while ago because mine really stank but I snapped them within 4 games so I went back to the old ones.
