Goal Line technology gets the Ok
Discussion
Just heard on the radio that FIFA have given the go ahead to both the systems that were being tested, Hawkeye and another system.
Not really sure what I feel about this, I suppose with all the money involved at the top level something needed doing.

Yep, Step Ladder was dead against it until a decision favoured England - even if you ignore the offside in the build up.
Now, if only England players dived (other than Ashley Young), took foul throws and pulled shirts in the area. Pretty soon those blights on the game would be clamped down on too.

Commented on that at the time. Goal line technology in that particular instance would have led to a mistaken goal given. I am, still, in favour of goal line tech. A goal should be a goal. I just hope that they turn their attention to getting other decisions right, even having the 4th official review something, or have a 3 challenges for the manager, or something. The goal line tech is just part of the field. Now, if only England players dived (other than Ashley Young), took foul throws and pulled shirts in the area. It's the beginning of the end.
After it's introdution, the first striker who handles the ball into the goal and the goal is given, or the first defender to handle the ball on the line and the ref doesn't spot it, and it'll be "we can't allow this, we have technology available, lets use it." Then after it's introduced for handball in the area, someone will score a crucial goal that was a mile offside and it'll be introduced for that. Then someoine will score last minute off a corner that should have been a goal kick. In 5 yrs the game will last twice as long and be stopped for every disputed throw in.
Wtf is wrong with bad decisions anyway. It gives the victims an opportunity to blame the ref for own their uselessness. Like us in the last world cup. Germany were always going to cane us, coz we were crap, but some people have deluded themselves into thinking 2-2 at half time and we would have gone on to win. Why spoil it for those saddos.
