Charged for (effectively) calling Ashley Cole a "choc-ice" - black on the outside, white in the middle - after Cole defended Terry in the dock.

I wouldn't say either Terry or RF are actualy racist, if either were they would struggle to play proffesional football but what both are alleged to have said is racist and if Terry has been brought to book for it then so should RF.

I think we're pretty close to establishing that in the UK racism is completely acceptable if you're not white so I doubt much will come of Rio's charge.

^This.

I don't think either are racist, just very stupid. Amazing how some people can become so rich despite their relative stupidity.

Both are possibly the best English CB of the last 20 or so years so I fully understand their wealth, what I don't understand is how to media savvy men with teams of PR people around them could make such remarks and think no one would notice.

As per the other thread please can someone explain how choc ice is racist. As I said it does not imply negativity about either race or pick out the colour of the person as a negative point. However no one answered my question on the other thread and just went along the lines of 'well I am offended'.

If you refer to a black person as a "Choc Ice" you are implying that while they are black skinned they also act or feel white on the inside. This tells me that the person using the term belives that being white is a bad thing, it is negative and the target of the term is somehow betraying his race.

Now if race were to not matter or be irrelevent it would not matter how someone acted or conducted themselves in regard of their colour.

Rio Ferdinand was agreeing that Ashley Cole had let down his black side, he should have taken sides based on skin colour. How isn't that racist?

incredibly stupid thing to say esp on twitterverse

whilst some will say its banter - it is racist

to allege that cole should've sided with anton simply cause they're both black is a rather dangerous thought in itself.

i do believe they were rather good mates before all this too.

Yes I will, it implies that Ashley Cole is a race traitor yes. But it implies no negativity about being white I'm not sure where you get that from. He obviously thinks black people should stick together, stupid as that is its not racist but hey ho. I'm not arsed either way.

So if you called someone a Wigger or a Jafaicun would that be racist too? (not you as in you)

Completely, I cannot fathom you're reasoning behind this.

What is wrong with AC being white on the inside? (not saying he is) Why should blacks stick together ffs?
This is my point. The Voice Newspaper, the Black Policemans Association etc etc, we are being told that everybody should intergrate and that we should be seen as equal yet we constantly see groups that want to distance themselves from others!

How can we have an equal society if there are so many divisions being set up? Can you imagine the outcry if there were a white only paper, a white policemans thingy, a music of white origin award. It would not be allowed. That is the other side of the same coin to the JT story, RF can say something just as bad as JT yet nothing is made of it, a brief mention in a couple of newspapers and a raised eyebrow from a Desk Sergeant in Derbyshire.

I feel like I'm being racist by merely discussing what RF had Tweeted, its plain to see what was meant by "Choc Ice"....I'll say it again, Ashley Cole, you are a black man but you are acting/feeling/being white on the inside, you are letting black people down by defending a white man, you should take Anton Ferdinands side not because you belive his story to be true or right but because you share the same colour skin.

That is racist!
