I would have thought that a steady old hand would have been needed with much experience to get them out of the mire. They need someone who will build a squad who work for each other and can make the best of a whole heap of individuals which PDC brought into the club

We're used to it - it's a long time since it was great to be a Sunderland fan (excepting a certain 3-0 away win last season)! I've seen worse, and no doubt I will see worse in the future - part of that rich tapestry...!

Bottom of the table with but a solitary point, the average crowd for our last two home games of 43k suggests I'm not the only one with supreme patience....
