As it says. Could a top female player cut the mustard at say a league two club and if not why not?

Would never know until one had training sessions with a club.
unsure of league two though, maybe a bit lower.

No...next!

But seriously it's all physical attributes. Not as fast, strong, jump/leap etc.

I haven't watched women's football enough to comment except to say the goalkeepers are fking hilarious.

There will probably come a point where an incredibly marketable female player does get a chance for a mens professional team just for the publicity it would create.

I would have thought Marta would have prompted that. I doubt we'll see a woman who plays more like a man for a long time.

I suspect the main issue would be that once they start training with a men's team they'll find they are only good enough for the lower leagues.

By lower leagues I assume you mean non-league/semi pro, rather than Div 1/2?

It would have to be really low level football, unless there is an unique woman out there.

Men's and women's football is a completely different ball game.

For a while we had a German woman playing in our regular 7 a side weekly kick around (all blokes). Before she moved to the UK she was apparently a player in a top women's club in Germany. She had a very good level of skill, passing excellent, could strike a ball well, scored some cracking goals. But her lack of strength meant that she could never have stood up to the normal level of tackling and challenges, so when playing against her you would always have to go easy on the physical side. She wouldn't have lasted two seconds in a "proper" game. By contrast, we had a bloke playing with us who was in the reserves of a local sub-conference side, who ran rings round everyone.

No. League is not non-league. Marta gets paid far more than, say, Middlesborough would pay her.

I'm confused. Yuo said that once a woman started training with a mens team they'd realise they'd only be good enough for the lower leagues. What lower leagues are you referring to?

The ones below the premiership. D'uh.

Maybe as a winger or a #10 in Italy, France or Spain; not where being physically very strong is necessary.

And every time she dived, she'd just bounce back up again.

I know of a lad who plays for the under 16s of a top French side. His father mentioned that they played the senior women's team and absolutely trounced them.

He said that it was quite enlightening to see how different they were.

I'm utterly rubbish at football. I once played in a British/Canadian/US/Aussie Embassy team against the Hungarian women's national team. We won 2-1.

Not if this video is anything to go by:

http://www.inside-man.co.uk/2014/07/17/could-an-am...

The commentary mentions that one of the Brazillian players had played in a world cup final.

Messi was given growth hormones. There are plenty of small players out there who may have comparable strength.

Perhaps if a young girl had the same development a boy gets we may see. I don't see why the technical side couldn't be the same unless it's a brain function thing

Trouble is a lot of coaches look look at size even early on. Bale nearly didn't make it but they had faith and he had a growth spurt
