Sack all football TV directors now !
Discussion
This has been annoying me since SKY 'reinvented' football. And now, it's time to call them out.
I was watching the NCAA softball final on ESPN this morning - as you do. When the final out occurred the broadcast director immediately concentrated on the reactions of the players on the diamond. Celebration and despair in equal measure. The emotions were visceral and seeing how important it was to those girls made a fitting end to the tournament.
So, why in this country, do football broadcast directors always switch to a shot of the managers and benches as soon as the whistle goes? Thus depriving us of the reactions of the men WHO ACTUALLY PLAYED THE FLIPPING GAME????
I do not want to see a shot of a morose Wenger being sneered at by Moreno for the n'th time. Instead, I want to see how the players react to victory and defeat. That is where the true drama of football is. Out there on the pitch.
Every single game ends with this shot. It makes no difference who the broadcaster is. Who on earth decided that this is what viewers want to see? Whoever it was is an idiot who knows absolutely nothing about the emotional power of football and should be fired. Preferably from the barrel of a large, gaily painted, circus gun.
Who here would prefer to see this...

or this......

rather than the footbal equivalent of this....

or this......

When I'm president of FIFA this annoying trend will be brought to an end.
