Great manager of one of the great English teams...in the last 40 years his mid 80's Everton side has to be right up there with the very best.

Very sad and he was speaking (sadly more slurring) at a dinner I was at not long ago.

Full of stories but too fond of the drink.

Agreed. He was a more than decent player and Everton were a class outfit under Kendall. I have the deepest respect for what he achieved and I loved the way his teams played football.

Always thought he was unlucky not to get a crack at the european cup due to the ban on english teams at that time.
